This 100% garnacha wine was made by famed winemaker Isaac Fernandez. It was crafted from fruit hand-harvested from the winery's oldest low-yielding bush-trained vines (over 40 years of age) in their highest vineyards (700-750 meters, or 2300- 2460 feet). These remarkable vines grow in stony, iron-rich, red clay soils on the windy and exposed slopes of Campo de Borja's famed Moncayo Mountain.
With the extra-rich, extra-concentrated fruit available from these low yielding old vines, Fernandez elected to age this wine in used French oak barrels for 7 months. This gives the "Vendimia Seleccionada Montaña" bottling terrific texture, richness and complexity.
