Alcohol: 14%
Grape(s): 100% Sangiovese certified organic
Localization: Tuscany, Italy
Tasting Notes: a nose immediately developing, characterized by intense notes of red berries and light underbrush. On the palate the sensation is immediate : a rich and intense body that goes to perfectly intertwine with grace and elegance of a present tannin but very soft and velvety. A Rosso di Montalcino that whispers longevity.
The Domain: Potazzine is the Italian word for very colorful and vivacious birds which inhabit the Tuscan countryside. In Montalcino, grandparents and parents alike often use potazzine as a term of endearment for children. In fact, it was their maternal grandmother who affectionately gave this nickname to Viola and Sofia who are the daughters of Giuseppe and Gigliola Gorelli, owners of the estate and genuinely authentic locals of Montalcino. Owned by Gigliola Giannetti and her daughters Viola and Sofia, the estate is comprised of two vineyards: near the town of Montalcino, Le Prata rises over 500 metres, while the slightly lower site of La Torre is located in Sant’Angelo in Colle.
