Julien Guillot Mâcon Rouge "Selection Massale" 2017

Only 2 left!

Alcohol: 13,5%

Grape(s): Gamay

Localization: Maconnais, Burgundy, France

Tasting Notes: made from 20 different Gamay including rustic ones, some with thick skins, and dark juice. Julien says that gamay was the majority variety in the mâconnais in the past but it was dethroned by chardonnay starting in the 1960s and now for 10 years it's pinot noir which takes the lead. there was very little pinot here in the past but in the Côte d')r they don't have enough of it, so there's high demand. super enjoyable mouth with dust feel and chalky tannins, delicate wine.

The Domain: Julien Guillot took over the family estate a few years ago. The 8 hectares of vineyards are cultivated using biodynamics methods. They applied themselves to produce natural red and white wines, showing liveliness and the real characters of the terroir in Cruzille (Bourgogne, Mâconnais).
