Alcohol: 13%
Grape(s): 100% Chardonnay
Localization: Puligny Montrachet, Burgundy, France
Tasting Notes: A vague whisper of the exotic on the aromas of white peach, passion fruit and floral whiffs. The refined, punchy, and solidly concentrated medium-weight flavors coat the palate with dry extract while displaying fine persistence on the balanced and tightly wound finale. This stylish and generously proportioned effort has enough mid-palate fat to permit early accessibility, but the finish makes clear that it has the stuffing to age effortlessly. Outstanding!
The Domain: It all begins in the first part of the twentieth century; after getting a heritage of some grape vines and buying some others, my great grandfather Etienne Sauzet created a domain with the same name in Puligny-Montrachet (21190, Côte d'Or, Burgundy).
After four generations and despite his demise in 1975, SAUZET is still six letters which ring as an homage at Chardonnay.
At every moment, it’s a pride to walk on the mythical lands of Puligny, this ground, this earth which gave birth to our wines.
This territory is a deep fastener in me, directly linked to my family.
I want to do tribute to Etienne Sauzet first and to my parents, Jeanine and Gérard Boudot who have done everything to raise the great reputation of the domain that it has today.
Our vineyard represents 15 ha distributed on Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, and Cormot-le-Grand in the Hautes côtes de Beaune.
We take care of our grape vines, land, and nature, giving energy to each piece of grapes than to every wine.
Our work is respectful of what has been done before, a little step for the future, and we are proud to continue it…
