This Chardonnay from unusual red limestone soils (studded with fossils) just outside the Macon AOC of St Veran. It's grown organically and ferments and ages in stainless steel with six months spend on the fine lees for extra creaminess. Zero sulfur used during winemaking before a very tiny touch added at bottling to protect the wine for shipping.
Naturally made and naturally delicious! Pretty aromas of white peach, green apple and yellow pear with a hint of citrus pith and hazelnut flow from the glass easily. The wine stays easy on the palate, where a touch of creaminess adds luxury to the fresh apple, pear and stone fruit core and the light hazelnut and chalk minerality on the fresh finish. And easy drinker for right now - anything from freshwater fish to a lobster roll or roast chicken will delight! - and at least a couple of years of improvement to come
