Tasting Notes: In addition to their beautiful muscadets, the Perraud brothers also make this surprising white wine from sauvignon gris. They have a small plot of this on their vineyards near Clisson. They make a tasty, fairly full, almost sultry wine. Beautiful in color and smell and slightly different from sauvignon blanc. Dingue de Toi!: 'crazy about you. A wine to fall in love with.

The Domain: “Domaine des Cognettes” is a family wine property for 6 generations, in 1990, Stéphane and Vincent took over their parents’ vineyard.

We cultivated grapevines in orientation at organic farming since the year 2009. Organic farming is therefore a logical extension of our philosophy; our goal is to provide our vines in the best conditions of life and in a healthy environment to preserve the authenticity of our wines. It is also a choice for the health of all. We made this choice per conviction; it’s a real logical suite of our philosophy and beautiful story. Our vineyard work is to respect the biodiversity, respect our vines, our soil, and our terroir. We want wines to have a natural taste, unique wines, and the best possible. Wines are produced without risk to our health.

The Domaine des Cognettes is on a rich soil made of eruptive and metamorphic rocks, over a layer of sand, pebbles, and clay lying on granite and gabbro. Very close to the Atlantic Ocean, our vineyard enjoys a temperate climate. Regular rain brings the water the vines need, the wind dries out the excess humidity and the mildness of the summer sun does the rest.

The grapes are picked by hand and selected by thirty pickers employed for the harvest before arriving at the press.

Vinification: The grapes are pressed with a pneumatic press. The vinification is conducted with the natural yeasts of the grapes. The settling of the must is made naturally and the fermentation is temperature-controlled.

As for the vines, we work to elaborate the wines as naturally as possible. Since many years, the elaboration of our wines is done in respect with the new specifications of organic farming.
