Tasting Notes- Fresh uplifting nose of citrus, pineapple, flowers, and minerals. Medium to full bodied with apple compote, good concentration and elegance. The long finish shows lovely acidity and excellent balance.
Vinification- The viticultural methods are traditional with emphasis on the vineyard, responsible farming and manual harvest. Cold maceration usually lasts around 14 days and the aging is carried out in 35% new French oak for 13 to 15 months. Estate bottled.
Terroir- AOC Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, Burgundy mainly on limestone and calcareous clay soils. Average age of vines: 50 years old. Poor silica clay soil on steep hill for perfect drainage, terroir owned by Charlemagne until 775.
