Wine Advocate, 95 Points-The 2008 Volnay Clos de la Bousse d'Or is impeccable from start to finish. Elegant, refined aromatics weave into layers of fruit as this substantial Volnay shows off its class and purity. The finish is supple and delicate, with plenty of reserve.
Le Clos des 60 Ouvrées is a 2.39-hectare vineyard surrounded by a wall in Volnay's Les Caillerets Premier Cru. On the border with Meursault, it is a monopole owned by the Pousse d'Or, and one of the domaine's most remarkable wines. The wine is matured on the lees in oak barrels for 15 months, and is neither filtered nor fined. The nose is very concentrated, with a hint of cherry and spices. The palate is delicate, with great distinction. It will grow in fullness over time (between 5 and 15 years).
