Domaine Berthet-Rayne Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2017

91 points: Loaded with notes of ground clove and cracked pepper, the 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape isn't the most intense or concentrated wine this vintage, but it is full-bodied, charming and silky, with plenty of mixed red and black cherries to provide easy drinking over the next 7-8 years.

From the fourth-generation family-run 25 hectare estate located mostly within Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the 2017 Berthet-Rayne is comprised of 65% grenache, 20% mourvedre, 10% cinsault, and 5% syrah -- all grown organically using traditional methods.
