The “Les Croix Vieilles Vignes” bottling is a limited release, 100% syrah from a plot of old vines planted over 60 years ago. After a slow native-yeast fermentation lasting about 30 days, this aged for 18 months in used barrels and concrete vats.

“Brilliant purple. Ripe black raspberry, cherry cola and incense aromas are complicated by a building spicy nuance. Silky and seamless on the palate, offering deeply concentrated red and dark berry and candied violet flavors that gain power and liveliness with air. The floral element carries emphatically through the strikingly long finish, which features supple tannins and a hint of spicecake. Drink 2023-2030. 93 points.” –Josh Raynolds, Vinous, April 2018

“($40) Deliciously ripe, with lots of crushed boysenberry and raspberry fruit flavors pumping along. Bright red licorice and sweet spice notes course underneath. The finish is rich, but with a violet accent for freshness. Drink now through 2023. 93 points.” –James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, Nov. 30, 2017
