Zanthoxylum Piperitum

Size: 18g (0.63oz)

The fragrance is aniseed, woody and very floral. The flavor is slightly spicy and acidic, with notes of orange peel, sour cherry, mint and aromatic herbs. It goes perfectly with duck, pork, poultry, and foie gras. It gives a very exotic note to citrus-based desserts, mousses, sorbets, ice creams, creams. Also delicious sprinkled on fruits, namely strawberries, melon, apricot and pineapple.

Also spelled "Sichuan" or "Sechuan", this pepper originates from the Se-Tchouan region of China, north of Yunnan. This elegant shrub produces clusters of small red fruits that are harvested in the fall and dried in the sun. Our berries develop a beautiful brown-red tone with purple notes, but the pepper can be found in other colors depending on when its harvested.
