Hibiscus, from the Malvaceae family; Also known as bissap or cardade (in reference to African drinks of the same name based on baobab pulp), gooseberry or guinea sorrel. It is rich in calcium, iron and vitamin C.
Tips for use: It is appreciated for its fruity and tangy aroma. It is mainly used in infusion for hot drinks, tea, herbal tea, bissap and in pastry in the preparation of cake, mousse and tangy syrup. But it also has its place on the salty side with fish and scallops.
