Silver Medal, 2018 Concours de Bordeaux
90% merlot and 10% cabernet sauvignon. After destemming and crushing, the wine was fermented with selected yeasts in temperature-controlled tanks for around three weeks. A portion of the blend is aged in oak, mostly for the purpose of rounding out the aromatics.

Tasting note:
The aromas of the 2016 Tour Caillet are an intoxicating perfume of earthy eucalyptus, cherry, and cassis. On the palate it's fine up front, with a zing of fresh fruit acidity racing through as it expands mid-palate and through the finish. As it opens, creamy red/black fruits show themselves; green tannins and slight heat present as a feature, not a bug, counter to them. The finish is peppery and inviting.
