The Domain: Laurent-Perrier is one of Champagne’s most prestigious houses, with a history dating back to 1812. It was founded by André-Michel Pierlot, a former cooper and bottler, in Tours-sur-Marne, a Grand Cru village at the crossroads of Champagne’s main vineyards.
The estate passed through several hands before Mathilde-Emilie Perrier took over in 1887, following the premature death of her husband, Eugène Laurent. She combined their names to create Veuve Laurent-Perrier and introduced innovations like the Grand Vin Sans Sucre, a sugar-free Champagne that catered to British tastes.
In 1939, the de Nonancourt family acquired the house, and Bernard de Nonancourt later became its driving force. Under his leadership, Laurent-Perrier grew into a global brand, known for its fresh, elegant, and pure style. He pioneered new Champagne styles, including Ultra Brut and the prestige cuvée Grand Siècle.
Today, Laurent-Perrier remains family-owned, with a commitment to innovation and excellence. It is recognized worldwide for its refined, terroir-driven Champagnes, exported to over 160 countries.
