“($25) Editors’ Choice: There's a ton of complexity on the nose of this tremendously well-priced Chardonnay from the Caraccioli family. Aromas of yuzu, dried apple, mango, white flowers and a hint of macadamia nut lead into a palate that's tense with preserved lemon peel and a very linear, alkaline-like focus. 92 points.” –Matt Kettmann, Wine Enthusiast, Nov. 2020
The complex and intensely flavorful 100% Chardonnay fruit for this limited-release wine from the Caraccioli family was hand-harvested and hand-sorted in an exclusive vineyard in Monterrey County’s Santa Lucia Highlands AVA on the night of September 24th, 2018. It was pressed lightly whole-cluster in a gentle Coquard Champagne Press and fermented in stainless-steel tanks at controlled temperatures. It aged for five months in neutral French Oak barrels before bottling at 14.1% abv.
