The 2018 vintage was a winemakers dream, with superb grape quality, high yields, and low sugar concentration in the fruit, it could go down as one of the best in the last decade.
The 2018 blend continues to be sourced from familiar vineyard sites throughout the Napa Valley. Calistoga, Rutherford, and Howell Mtn are among the growing regions selected for this year blend. The wine spent 15 months in 60% New French oak cooperage.
The 2018 “the dude” blend breakdown as the following; 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Cab Franc, 12% Merlot, and 2% Malbec.
Blueberry, and blackberry jam with vanilla bean nose. The 2020 “dude” is concentrated, with sweet vanilla toast, asian spice, cassis, cocoa and spice on the pallet. The wine has great length, with richness and concentration on the finish.
