From the rolling hills of Southwest France, this is 100% Petit Manseng picked late, fermented in 50% new French oak, and aged 18 months on the lees. Yes, there is residual sugar (albeit balanced beautifully by zesty acids), so we have to call this “sweet.” But it’s really more of a golden, lightly honeyed, mouthwatering treat to be drunk with light snacks on a sunny Sunday afternoon with friends and family. A “wine of contemplation” this is sometimes called, and certainly you’ll enjoy contemplating the lovely apricot and grilled nectarine fruit and the snappy, fresh, finish.
