From 80 – 100-year-old vines on deep clay-limestone terroir that sit more mid-to-lower slope, close to the neighboring Vosne-Romanée. Broad but balanced, this bottle is a benchmark of the domaine. Fruit is hand-harvested and sorted. 100% destemmed. 2 weeks of fermentation then ageing in 228-liter used oak barrels for 18 – 20 months. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, and minimal SO2 added. Organic.
Bertrand Machard de Gramont created the estate in 1983 after having worked for many years for the family domain.
In 2001, the surface covered 6ha thanks to the spectacular replanting on terraces of the "Vallerots" climate, on virgin soil, partly abandoned since Phylloxera.
In 2004, Bertrand was joined by his daughter Axelle.
