Grape(s): 34% Zweigelt, 33% Syrah, 33% Merlot
Localization: Wagram, Austria
Tasting Notes: Dry, minerally, and floral with fruit character reminiscent of tangy red berries, and white cherry, this rosé leans a bit more toward what we might describe as "Provençal" in style than it has in previous vintages – light in color and body but bold in flavor and aroma!
Food pairing: Delightful with pea shoot salad, nectarine sections, and grilled ‘n chilled shrimp; Chicken with Caesar salad dressing and romaine lettuce on a grilled roll.
The Domain: When Anton Bauer takes something on, he does so wholeheartedly. When he took over the winery from his parents in 1992, it had only 3.2 hectares of vines. The quality fanatic now cultivates around 35 hectares of vineyards in and around Feuersbrunn. Anton Bauer's work is defined by the combination of deeply rooted commitment to tradition and openness for new methods. The vintner's thoughts and actions have been visionary from the beginning. Next to the classic Wagram grape varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, and Roter Veltliner, he also invested increased efforts in red wine production - something that initially met with skepticism. Despite this, his Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, and aptly named "Cuvée Legendär" now count among Austria's top red wines. The white wines are in the same league
