Alcohol: 13.5%
Grape(s): Pinot Noir
Localization: Sancerre, Loire Valley, France
Tasting Notes: This is a light, round wine, full of red fruit aromas and made in thermo-regulated tanks. A good intensity of ruby-garnet complexion, with typical aromas of ripe cherry and peony, mixed with a touch of graphite. The attack is frank and supple. The tannins gradually build, and help to conclude a firm finish. Well-structured. The red fruit aromas persist.
Food pairing: It goes perfectly with cold cuts, poultry, and red meats, as well as any French cheese.
The Domain: The Neveu family, viticulturist father and son, have been based in the heart of the Chavignol vineyards for generations, and today carry on the tradition of the great Sancerrois vignerons.
Valérie (André Neveu’s daughter), and her husband Thomas, now run the Domaine that extends to about 13 hectares of vines of AOC Sancerre red, white and rosé.
They harvest, vinify and sell everything themselves.
