Andis Barbera is 100% grown in our Estate on decomposed granite soils at 1500 feet elevation, facing North. This red wine is a true expression of a robust, full-bodied, and firmly tannic wine with deep dark color, giving it a rustic appeal. The name Barbera d'Amador is an homage to the other two famous regions of the world, Alba and Asti.
The Domain: 40 years ago, a visionary grape grower named Bill Dillian planted these beautiful, head-trained Sémillon vines in the sandy soils of Amador County, California Shenandoah Valley AVA. Andis Wines took the chance on producing wine from this vineyard without knowing that one day it would be recognized by critics as a “Hidden Gem of California”,
