Vinous, 89 Points- The 2018 Falanghina Preta is wonderfully fresh, as a dusting of minerals give way to citrus-infused pear and dried florals. On the palate, soft, silky textures flood the senses with mineral-tinged yellow apples and hints of sweet spice. The finish is medium in length, resonating on saline-minerals and a buzz of residual acids.
100% estate-grown Falanghina Beneventana grapes, grown in a clay soil of partly volcanic origin with many stones at a density of around 5,000 plants per hectare, and typically picked in early September. Citrus and herbal notes, along with the minerality, make for a delicious, bright and flavorful white wine; one of Campania’s classic whites.
