Tasting Notes: This beautiful wine has a beautiful cherry color, with a high intensity garnet rims. On the nose it is very powerful and complex, highlighting the ripeness of the grape with aromas of black fruit, cocoa, toasted wood and spicy tones (cinnamon, nutmeg, black pepper and some vanilla). In the mouth it is soft and sweet, very fruity, with sensations of black fruit, fine toasted notes and aromatic woods, with a very long and complex finish.

In short, it is a wine that expresses its origin well to consume now and many years from now.

The Domain: Hermanos Sastre is a family-run winery located in the heart of the Ribera del Duero, in the town of La Horra. The DO of Ribera del Duero is located in the mountainous northern-central Spain. It's high alpine valleys of the Duero River provide respite from the hot Spanish climate and provide a long ripening season from the cool nights. Pedro Sastre is the winemaker in charge of overseeing all operations of the winery. The winery produces a range of wines -- from a "Tinto", with 7 months barrel age to Gran Reservas, all from Tinto del Pais (Tempranillo) grape. They also own a unique vineyard site called Pago Santa Cruz. Pago Santa Cruz has vineyards over sixty years old planted by Pedro's grandfather. In exceptional vintages, Pago Santa Cruz appears under its own label.
