Alcohol: 11%
Grape(s): Riesling (Trocken)
Localization: Mosel, Germany
Tasting notes: The LS is more open, alive, golden, and floral, with just a hint of 'sponti' on the nose as well. Add to this the same invigorating acid and a delicate but generous portion of the chalky structure and you've got an astoundingly complex, beautiful wine with a touch of wild, rambunctious, individuality.
The Domain: Clemens Busch is a rock star in the Mosel (more Bob Dylan than Mick Jagger). After taking over his family's winery in 1984, he became one of the first winemakers in the region to practice biodynamics, and his wines have gained a devoted following ever since. His Marienburg vineyard, a steep slope above the Mosel River, is one of the best sites in the region and has 3 types of slate: blue, red and gray. A true "terrorist" he vinifies each parcel separately and keeps a hands-off approach in the winery.
