This was the "Puits d'Amour", a cake with the best jam ever imagined at the time at its heart. The secret was forgotten, as the Puits d'Amour is now made with custard. Forgotten until Confiture Parisienne rediscovered the secret of this marvelous recipe, which has never been updated since Louis XV.
